Add a Directory to Apache Web Server

Needing to share ISO images on our SLW (Shitty Little Webserver) at work, I added a disk mirror, and mounted on /data.  Now, how do I add that to the document root on the web server?

Well, a quick look around the inter webs shows this:

Alias /data /data/outside/documentroot

     Order allow,deny
     Allow from all

Added to httpd.connf

In the processes of moving it upstairs.  Ordered art as well.  It is photos of the stereo on canvas.  Can't wait...

Getting Rid of Chooser in RHEL 6

Without the GDM configuration tool in RHEL 6, it takes a bit of command line to remove the user list.

# su -s /bin/sh gdm
sh-3.2$ gconftool-2 --direct \ 
--config-source=xml:readwrite:$HOME/.gconf -t bool \
-s  /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list true

Also, you can add a message

sh-3.2$ gconftool-2 --direct --config-source=xml:readwrite:$HOME/.gconf -t string \
-s /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/banner_message_text 'Your banner message'
sh-3.2$ gconftool-2 --direct --config-source=xml:readwrite:$HOME/.gconf -t bool \
-s /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/banner_message_enable true
